Liverpool, England

September 3, 1988- Liverpool: Many great concerts of Michael Jackson were held in the United Kingdom, but this was the biggest of the tour because even the amount of ground used covered the first three jumps in the Grand National. Michael Jackson even said "I have always considered Liverpool the home of contemporary pop music. By virtue of its being the birth place of the incomparable Beatles." The bad side of this concert was that the one which took place at the Aintree Racecourse, ended in hundreds of fans being treated by the St. John Ambulance for passing out, fainting, headaches, hysteria and even being crushed amongst the crowd of 125,000

Leeds, United Kingdom

August 28, 1988- Leeds, United Kingdom: During the United Kingdom tour, Jackson performed in Leeds on August 29, 1988 on his 30th birthday, The fans even sang "Happy Birthday to You" to Michael Jackson. An incident happened during the concert where a pilot was chased by police after flying a plane above the crowd of 90,000. No one was injured, although 96 fans were arrested mostly because of drunkenness and some for drug offences and lots of damage. After the concert, Jackson donated $130,000 to “Give For Life”, a British charity was aiming to raise $1.9 million towards an immunisation programme for over 40,000 children.

London, England

July 14, 1988- London, United Kingdom: Tickets for the concert went on sale in January, with the ticket demand from the fans over 1.5 million. Princess Diana and Prince Charles attended the concert, as always, Jackson donated $450,000 to the Prince's Trust and the Great Ormond Street Hospital. Jackson also presented a special tour jacket which was shown in Jackson's solo albums Bad, Thriller and Off the Wall to the royal children. All concerts at Wembley earned Jackson a third place into the Guinness World Records from the tour alone on September 8, 1988. Jackson won the award given to him which was previously held by Genesis (very famous band).

Switzerland

June 16, 1988- Basel, Switzerland: This amazing concert was attended by the greats Elizabeth Taylor and Bob Dylan. While in Basel, Jackson met with Oona O'Neill, the widow of Charlie Chaplin, one of Jackson's all-time heroes when he was young, and throughout his life. The two concerts in Gothenburg, Sweden on June 11 and June 12, 1988 were scheduled at the Ullevi Stadium but sadly it was under repair. Instead the concert was held at Gothenburg's shipyard in Eriksberg. Many names were given to Jackson, in Asia and also while touring in Europe, Jackson would be given the names "The Earl of Whirl" and "The Peter Pan of Pop."

Italy

May 23, 1988- Italy: Following the United States tour, now Michael Jackson is in Europe and his first stop is Rome, Italy. Jackson did a very weird move, hours before the highly anticipated concert Jackson sneaked out the back of the Lord Byron Hotel where he was staying, dressed in a curly haired wig, false moustache and raincoat to walk around the streets all alone, and then back to the hotel in a taxi alone, this is what created fear amongst his security, safely the concert made a great hit, with Michael Jackson donated £100,000 to the Bambino Gesu Hospital, the leading children's hospital in Italy.

New York

March 3, 1988- New York: Jackson performed a private concert at Madison Square Garden, New York City where all the income of his concert was donated immediately to the United Negro College Fund. Tickets for this amazing concert of Jackson’s concert could not be purchased easily just like any concert ticket at any regular box office, but to a point where a special lottery system determined ticket receivers, and these were the lucky ones. Tatiana Thumbtzen, Jackson’s ex-girlfriend kissed him during the concert, and this what lead to fans referring back to their relationship, the concert was a great hit, and after all proceeds went to an important place.
